Joss Whedon, current king of the Marvel
universe, is being sued for allegedly stealing the idea for the cult horror smash, "The Cabin in the Woods." Whedon and "Cabin" co-writer/director Drew Goddard are being sued by a guy named Peter Gallagher (not "The O.C." guy with the eyebrows) who claims he registered a book with the Writers Guild called "The Little White Trip: A Night in
the Pines."
Gallagher's book came 5 years
before 'Cabin' ... which he claims has
several similarities to his work: -- Five
friends (three males, two females), ages
17-22-- In the book, the girls are named Julie and Dura; in the film, Jules and Dana-- Each takes place at a cabin in the woods (duh!)-- Each has a twist where you learn the characters are being manipulated and filmed as players in a real-life horror show (spoiler alert!)
In all, Gallagher says there are 25 similar scenes.

near a best seller -- but in the suit, he says
Whedon might have caught wind of it
because Gallagher used to hawk it on
sidewalks in Santa Monica, CA. He says
Whedon lives in that city, Of course ... so do 92,000 other people. Gallagher is seeking damages in excess of $10 million.
R&B legend Percy Sledge, "When A Man Loves A Woman" Singer Dies.
R&B legend Percy Sledge -- famous for his hit "When a Man Loves a Woman" -- died at home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana Tuesday morning after a long battle with cancer.
Percy took his signature song to #1 in 1966. It was his debut single and went on to become an international hit. It was re-released in the U.K. in 1987 and still made it to #2 on the charts. Michael Bolton's cover version also hit #1 in 1991 -- and it's one of Hollywood's favorite tunes ... appearing on the soundtracks of well over 20 movies.
Percy had a few other hits -- "Warm and
Tender Love" and "Take Time to Know Her" -- but nothing that matched his first
blockbuster hit. He continued performing
until about a year ago -- and this Thursday

something was posted on instagram today but was quickly deleted after fans called her out for allowing a video of her 'sniffing' to be posted online.
In the 15sec video, the singer, who was partying with her girls on a tour bus after attending the Coachella Music Festival, was sitting at a table with what looked like a slim white tube in her hands as her friends dance around her.
The camera cuts to her friends, then turns to Rihanna, who is now seen holding her nose. Many said she was sniffing cocaine but Rihanna later took to instagram to claim she rolling a joint, with Cigarette rolling papers and was not sniffing anything. Many didn't believe her.
A Black Woman With Two Vaginas in Maryland Discovered By US Doctors.
According to media reports, doctors in
Maryland, US, found a woman with a very
unusual condition; she was born with two
vaginas. The woman, described as black,
has the vaginas side-by-side but only uses one - for sex. The other one, she's never used before, so that one is still considered 'virgin'. The lady told doctors that she menstruates out of both vaginas during her period.
Doctors performed a full medical exam on the woman and determined that both
vaginas were fully functional and both of
them lead to her single uterus, according to a report by MediaTakeOut. Aside from
having two vaginas, everything else in the
woman's anatomy is the same.

10 Nigerians are feared dead after angry
South Africans launched a xenophobic
attack on African migrants in Johannesburgon Friday April 10th.
According to reports, 5 Gabonese, 10 Somalis and 5 Congolese students were also killed with some of their bodies set ablaze during the attack.
According to reports, the South Africans say their anger is that black migrants from other African countries are taking all the jobs available to young men in their country, leaving them, the citizens jobless, and slowly taking over their economy.

another string of xenophobic attacks in
Durban today April 14th.
The South African police is currently patrolling the city to avert further attacks on shops owned by immigrants from other African countries. Malawian government have concluded plans

North Korea First lady makes First Appearance in 2015.

The last time she was seen in public was in December 2014 at a ceremony

Tuedon Omatsola Morgan, a married mother of four, has made history as the first Nigerian to set foot on the North pole.
The 42 year old marathon runner, who has finished marathons on seven continents twice, achieved this feat recently. She placed the Nigerian flag on the North Pole, in Alaska.

Supreme court upholds Fayose's election and dismiss APC petitions.
The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state and dismissed the petition against him. At a ruling this morning April 13th, a 7-man panel led by Justice John Fabiyi dismissed all the grounds of appeal filed by the petitioner, APC members in the state House of Assembly, who argued that Governor Fayose was not eligible to contest following his impeachment from office during his first administration.
Delivering judgement, the court held that
while impeachment was not a ground of
disqualification from contesting as governor, the panel which recommended Fayose for impeachment on October 16, 2006, was illegally and unconstitutionally constituted.
The court also ruled that allegations of
certificate forgery is not substantive as the HND certificate Fayose presented when he signified interest to run for Governor was genuinely earned and was awarded to him.
Regarding allegations of the use of the
military by Fayose to intimidate APC
supporters during the June 2014
governorship election, the Supreme Court
ruled that the Chief of Defence Staff and the Inspector-General of Police, joined as 4th and 5th defendants in the case were not necessary parties.

Masari has been declared winner of the
governorship election in Katsina state.
He pulled a total of 943,085 votes to defeat his closest rival and PDP candidate Musa Nashuni, who pulled 476,768 votes.
INEC declares PDP Emmanuel Udom winner of Akwa ibom gov election
The returning officer for Akwa Ibom state
has declared PDP’s Udom Emmanuel the
winner of the governorship poll in Akwaibom state. Mr Udom pulled a total of 996,071 votes to beat APC’s Umana Okon Umana who pulled 89,865.
Meanwhile there was massive protest by the APC calling for cancellation of the election in the state. APC says the elections was marred with lots of
irregularities.

Rapper Nelly Arrested in Tennessee on drug charges.
Oops! Rapper Nelly was arrested yesterday
morning April 11th on felony drug charges in Tennessee after a state trooper stopped his tour bus for not having the correct ID stickers.
The troopers noticed the smell of
marijuana when they stopped the bus and
then proceeded to search it. The search
uncovered marijuana, meth, as well as
multiple handguns. Nelly and one of the
other five people in the bus were
immediately arrested.

deeply troubled with the recent
development in his state.
The first trouble he is dealing with is the
impeachment move being put together
by 19 APC lawmakers.
Secondly, the man has bite the finger

Jonathan greatly and the man has
decided to leave him to his fate.
Sources inside the Presidency alleged
that Fayose’s trouble with President
Jonathan started during his re-election
campaign. It was alleged that Jonathan
entrusted his N21 billion campaign fund
into Fayose’s hand which he allegedly
mismanaged.

Another source said Fayose’s behaviour
betrayed his intention in recent times,
citing his last week secret journey out of
Ekiti State and today’s recorded broadcast to Ekiti people.

recently suggests he is greatly troubled.

and quietly entered. Today, he presented a recorded broadcast to the people as a live broadcast.

Another source in Abuja said Fayose
has been running from pillar to post in
order to seek President Jonathan’s
forgiveness, citing that the opposition
party leaders are the ones using black
power to force him to disrespect
Jonathan.

The Academy Set Dates For 2016,2017 and 2018 Oscars.
The Academy of Motion Picture Art and Sciences has planned ahead of the next three Oscars. On Thursday,March 9, the Academy and ABC announced the dates for 2016,2017 and 2018 Oscars Award.
The 88th annual ceremony will take place on February 28, 2016, and the 89th edition will be held on February 26,2017. The 90th ceremony, meanwhile will be pushed back a week to March 4,2018 to avoid competition with the 2018 winter Olympics, which will take place February 9-25 in pyeongchang in South Korea.
AMPAS additionally announced several key dates for next year's ceremony. Nominations voting will run from December 30,2015 until January 8,2016. Nominations will be announced on January 14 and final voting will take place on February 13-23.
The 2016 Oscars will take place at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood and will air on ABC. Craig Zadan and Neil Meron who produced the last three Oscars won't return for the next edition. No new producer have being announced yet.
UNILORIN 20 things you need to know about post-UTME.
After the just conclude JAMB 2015 CBT exam since March 21st 2015, questions have resurfaced concerning UNILORIN post-UTME when it will be out,the amount etc.
Here is the compilation of the few things you need to know at the moment:
1) To qualify for the post-UTME in UNILORIN candidate must have sat for or already have his/her O'level result having at least credit in both English and mathematics and meet up with the cut off mark of the course you applied for.
2) UNILORIN Post-UTME exam is a CBT exam so be ready to face the computer once more.
3) The question is going to be 50 in numbers lasting for 25/30 minutes.
4) The questions can be categorized into 5 parts i.e English language, mathematics, Biology, General questions (Geography having higher priorities)and current affairs.
5) Generally UNILORIN do not have proportion in which the questions are asked.
6) UNILORIN does not test you based on the department you applied to or course you choose, don't be surprise that you applied for law and you are sitting next to someone who applied for accounting.
7) No official date have being announced for the sale of post-UTME Form by the school but mind you probably after a month or 2 months from the post of this information.
8) When the sales of form starts it will be posted on dailies and on the school website.
9) No official price yet for the sales of the form but it may range between #3000 to #4000, it was #3000 last year and #2000 in the previous year.
10) The forms will be purchased online from the school website using verve or MasterCard. It will not be on sale like you applied for jamb.
11) Note that the form will be online for just the duration of two weeks.
12) As practice by all federal universities, UNILORIN also gives priorities to candidates from her catchment areas than other catchment area. Don't be surprise that you score 230 in jamb and 80% in post-UTME and someone with 200 in jamb and 60% in post-UTME is offered admission.
13) UNILORIN catchment areas are as follows: the middle belt states( kwara,kogi,Benue,Niger and Nasarawa)
But the southwest states are considered in some cases.
14) UNILORIN post-UTME cutoff mark is generally 50% except for those course with higher priorities ranging between 60% to 70%. If you have anything less forget about gaining admission in UNILORIN.
15) All that is required of you on the day of exam is your printout and pen to sign the attendance. Mind you dress decently because UNILORIN don't tolerate indecency.
16) Your result will be sent to you as a text from 8pm or so, be sure of the phone number you put down while registering and the result will be posted on the school website.
17) A text message will be sent to you when you are offered admission or by checking the school website.
18) Religion is not used as a basis for admission in UNILORIN.
19) UNILORIN chooses two centers for post-UTME which is in lagos at Oba Akran Avenue and the other in the school premises in Ilorin. You are to choose one of this centers for your exam.
20) UNILORIN remedial student will also seat for the post-UTME to increase there chance of admission, although 50% pass will do but it will increase the chance or guarantee them the course they desire.
